November 18, 2009 (Day 16)
Mommy had a doctor's appointment today, so it was me and you for a couple of hours. Mommy had pumped a couple of ounces of breastmilk for you just in case you were hungry before she got back. You had never had a bottle before, so we were really nervous if you would take to it or not. You slept so peacefully.

Everything was fine until you woke up crying. You had a big cry fest and got daddy all nervous.

I tried everything that I knew of to try to calm you down. I even tried to paci you with my finger.

Nothing worked, so while my blood pressure was rising (so nervous and flustered) I got your bottle and warmed it under the running water in the kitchen sink. Then a few seconds later, your mommy came through the door. Thank God because my heart was breaking with your cries. Mommy took a quick shower and then nursed you. You were a happy baby again! Whew!
We noticed some baby acne today. I read that it should clear up by 6 months of age. But we will keep an eye on it nonetheless. Today you lost the umbilical cord stump. We were so proud to see your cute belly button.
November 19, 2009 (Day 17)
You had an alert morning. Just looking around with your big beautiful eyes. Although you did have a lot of spit up, which always concerns us.

November 20, 2009 (Day 18)
Today is mommy and daddy's anniversary. We have been married for sixteen years and you are the best anniversary gift we could imagine. Of course you did decide to give us a little something extra. Today when changing your poopy diaper, you pooped on me (well my hand). But it was a good poop. Then later today while changing a wet diaper you urinated all on my arm, of course you got your leg too. We let you go diaper free and wrapped you in just a towel and you inaugurated mommy. So it was a good day. Just when I thought we had prepared for it all...we were cleaning up your butt and you shot off a big poop that went 3 feet across the floor just barely missed me and mommy had just got out of the way. I did the "matrix" move while dodging your poop stream. We just laughed. Then you urinated up into the air. Good times.
November 21, 2009 (Day 19)

November 22, 2009 (Day 20)
Today we prepared your birth announcements and thank you cards for the gifts you had received. Of course we included not one but two pictures of you because you are just so cute.
November 23, 2009 (Day 21)
You are three weeks old today. Happy three weeks my son! God has blessed us with you and we're so thankful.
